2010 Spring Concert Directed by Dan Clausen "Call to Singers"

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 through Saturday, May 29, 2010. 10am. The Plymouth Arts Center Singers are getting ready for their 10th annual concert and You are invited to join them. The concerts are presented by interested singers to help further an appreciation of the arts. A wide-range of music from spirituals, Broadway, folk, novelty, patriotic, choral music is included. It is a wonderful excuse for the two musicians to indulge in the sheer pleasure of playing the great man's work and of course share it with audiences wishing to hear his music performed live. To present 'AN EVENING WITHOUT JAMES TAYLOR', Nige and Dave regularly favour the reduced forces of just themselves, an acoustic guitar and a piano. Nigel Challis (acoustic guitar, vocals) and Dave Sanderson (piano, vocals) have joined forces to perform an evening's worth of music by the American singer-songwriter James Taylor including favourites such as "Fire And Rain", "Sweet Baby James" and "Carolina In My Mind" alongside other more recent work from albums such as 'October Road', 'Hourglass' and 'New Moonshine'. The Doctor's Orders Plymouth: Klashnekoff & Jehst

Having rocked the spot to it’s foundations at the launch party The Doctor’s Orders are back with another phenomenal line up of the finest Hip-Hop talent the UK has to offer. Once again resident and promoter in chief Spin Doctor will be setting things off with another trademark set of party bangers old and new for the crowds dancing pleasure. He is joined by two of the most incredible lyrical talents that the UK has ever produced in the shape of Klashnekoff and Jehst. Klashnekoff first came to prominence as a member of the much-respected Terra Firma crew but it is when he broke through on his own through 2004’s “The Sagas of Klashnekoff” that his light really started to shine! With club banger “Murda” receiving mass support from every DJ worth his salt this was just another step in what has become one of the most exemplary careers in UK Hip-Hop. Mixing emotional beats with thought provoking rhymes his distinctive style that is distinctly British while nodding to his Jamaican heritage and has seen him much in demand working with Hip-Hop’s top table including Just Blaze, Mobb Deep, Ghostface, Kano to name a few. He will be bringing all of that style and swagga to Plymouth for a trademark roof raising set. Jehst has been at the pinnacle of the UK Hip-Hop scene since his 1999 debut EP and does not spend any time looking down, only forward. With a unique lyrical style and content his debut LP, 2003’s “Falling Down” became and instant classic and he has been following that with a solid output that is the envy of many of even the UK’s finest MC’s. As entertaining on stage as he is on disk he is joined by Micall Parknsun and former ITF champion Jazz T that will also be blessing us with a set of his party rocking stylings.
